POLICE hunting armed robbers who stole £15,000 from a Chorley store are offering a substantial reward for information.
The incident happened at the Aldi superstore on Harpers Lane last Saturday at 4pm when a masked man brandishing a shotgun ordered Securicor guards to hand over a cash box containing £15,000.
The gunman escaped in a burgundy Rover 200, registration J819 TOV, which was stolen several days earlier from the Greater Manchester area.
The driver of the vehicle was male, dark-haired and wearing a black baseball cap and sunglasses.
The two made their way to Thornhill Estate via Spring Road where they threw away the cash box.
The vehicle was then abandoned on the estate as a second car was waiting in Harpers Lane.
The robber is described as male, wearing a black balaclava, broadly built, 5'7" tall and spoke with a Manchester accent.
Anyone with information should contact Chorley police on 269021.
