BOLTON firemen were among a team of Greater Manchester firefighters honoured with Fire Brigade Long Service and Good Conduct medals.
The medal is awarded by the Queen to members of the Brigade who have completed 20 years "exemplary fire service".
A total of 26 firemen were awarded the medal at the Brigade's training centre in Thompson Street, Manchester. The local firefighters included:
Fireman Michael Wolfendale currently serves at Bolton Fire Station.
Temporary ADO Martin Higgins is at Fire Service Headquarters in the Fire Safety Department.
Temporary ADO Mark Arrowsmith is Station Commander at Wigan.
Station Officer Alan Carwardine is a Rider Station Officer based at Farnworth Station.
Assistant Divisional Officer Shaun O'Donnell works in the B Division Fire Safety Department.
Sub Officer Gary Yates serves in the A Division Headquarters Fire Safety Department.
