THE rogue gas salesman sacked earlier this week could be back knocking on doors within days, a consumer group has warned.
Officials at the Gas Consumer Council issued the warning after learning of the bogus salesman's actions from the BEN.
The salesman was sacked by Norweb Gas Ltd after it emerged he had forged signatures on fake customer contracts.
Today Gas Consumer Council assistant manager Jim Lockheed said: "There is no reason why he won't be out selling door-to-door on behalf of another company very soon. There are about 20 different companies trying to sign customers up and from our information it appears there is a shortage of people prepared to go out at all times of the day on a commission-only basis.
"So anyone prepared to do the job is likely to be taken on pretty quickly."
