WITH August approaching, the customary rush for new and second hand cars will soon be underway.
Wendy Rowe, managing director of Retaina Group, leaders in passive security, is urging car buyers in the Bolton area to keep security in mind.
She says: "With more than half-a-million vehicles stolen in the UK every year and 40 per cent never recovered, security should be top of mind.
"Many motor manufacturers use our marking and registration system, including Saab, Fiat, Renault and Daewoo, so there is a good chance the car you are about to buy may already be marked with a security code and Retaina Group's free 24-hour telephone checkline."
Security marking and registering ownership details on the ISR (International Security Register) acts as a proven deterrent to thieves.
To register your car or or check a vehicle you are about to buy the ISR on 01233 333000.
