A REVAMP of Lever Park at Horwich could still be on the cards ... but it is likely to be scaled down from ambitious plans revealed last year.
Council leisure chiefs are still in talks with North West Water and it is possible a bid could still be put in for National Lottery cash. But it was confirmed at last night's Bolton Council meeting that town hall chiefs have given up hope of Millennium Commission cash for an ambitious Blue Planet visitor centre.

Cllr Gerry Riley, leisure services committee chairman, said it was possible some work could still be carried out to improve the rundown gardens at Rivington. He said there was a possibility that it could be carried out under the Government's new Welfare to Work scheme.
