I have been re--cycling paper (and junk mail) since the scheme started 20 odd years ago.
There is a collection service in aid of Bolton Hospice where a van picks up every Monday morning in this area. I also re--cycle bottles and jars, but unfortunately the huge containers on the car park of Little Lever Community Centre have once more been vandalised and the contents thrown around the car park.
This has happened so many times that they have finally been taken away.
These containers were fastened down with chains. No doubt the mindless yobs that do this damage get their stength from the empty beer and cider bottles that are strewn around the lovely little park just around the community centre.
These same yobs break the equipment on the children's playground, vandalise the bowling green and hut every weekend. A small fortune of taxpayer's money has been spent on this park lately, but the yobs just can't leave this alone.
I notice all these things as I walk my dog, and yes, I do clean up after him. But when I see this damage, and all the litter lying around, I wonder why I bother.
