WELL behaved primary pupils have earned their school praise from an OFSTED inspection team.
Pupils of all ages were on their best behaviour when the team checked out classes at Kearsley West County Primary School on Primrose Street.
"Pupils have positive attitudes towards their work and behave well. Even the youngest children in the nursery settle happily to their activities in an atmosphere of purposeful calm," said the report.
All pupils, including a high number with special educational needs, are eager to learn.
Children entering the nursery class often have below average skills but achieve national standards in English, Maths and Science by the end of Key Stage 1.
However they slip slightly below average in English and Science at Key Stage 2 and information technology is below the national expectation at both key stages.
