A YOUNG Bolton tearaway stole a car, crashed into an ambulance and then got into a fight in hospital. But 17-year-old Edward Wiseman wasn't arrested for his escapades - because he was filming in Bristol for a forthcoming episode of Casualty. Edward, from Ivy Road in Smithills, has spent the past two weeks shooting the action-packed episode of the popular BBC drama series based at the fictional Holby General Hospital.

And the young actor is delighted to have been given his big break. He told the BEN: "Filming was good fun, but it was hard work and I was very nervous. The other actors who have been in it for years were a great bunch to work with, but I was a bit star-struck when I met Charlie."

The former Smithills School pupil is currently working hard at Bolton College on Manchester Road for a BTEC in performing arts and has hopes of becoming an actor full-time.

He added: "I've been acting since I was little and this is my first big break and will hopefully be the start of things to come. I really enjoyed doing it and I can't wait till it goes out."

Edward's starring episode is due to be shown in December.
