ON Remembrance Day, Sunday November 8 1998, I would like to invite the people of Westhoughton to a service at the Parish Church of St Bartholomew, a Service of Remembrance at the War Memorial and a Parade.
The Parade will assemble at Greenfields Private Members Club, rear of 68 Wigan Road at 9.20am, departing for the Parish Church of St Bartholomew at 9.40am for the Service of Remembrance at 10am, followed by another short service at the War Memorial at 10.45am. The Parade will then march up Church Street, along Lord Street, The Avenue, Central Drive, Bolton Road and Market Street, returning to Greenfields Private Members Club.
I hope that you will be able to join me on this special day.
Cllr Bernard Ramsden
Town Mayor of Westhoughton
