BAR Peru wants to make YOU a star -- and raise mountains of cash for needy children. The Manor Street venue is playing host to a search for the best singers, dancers, comedians and novelty acts in Bolton.
As well as offering a £500 top prize, would-be stars have the chance to get spotted by national talent scouts and TV executives.
And Bar Peru manager Lloyd Sternberg is also aiming to make the Search For a Star event -- sponsored by Budweiser -- a big hit for charity.
Collections during each of the talent nights will gather cash to boost this year's BEN/Bolton Lions Caring Christmas Appeal.
Now the race is on to get registered for the chance to show what you can do in front of a bar full of people.
The first heat takes place on Tuesday night, with weekly heats running up to a Grand Final on December 21.
Weekly heat winners will receive champagne and clothing vouchers.
Details of heat winners and future heat details will appear in the Cheers column regularly.
The winner will also be given the chance to perform live in front of about 800 people at Club Mondo as part of their prize as they bid for fame.
Lloyd has compered successful charity talent nights during his career of club management in the North West.
He said: "I'm sure there's loads of great talent out there. People just have to seize the opportunity and go for it and show us what they can do.
"The emphasis is very much on fun and having a go, though of course we will make sure it is done professionally."
One of his claims to fame is that popular chart band Cleopatra made one of their first public appearances at his club Lloyd's. To register call the entry hot-line as soon as possible on Bolton 521321 or 0468 998888. Bar Peru manager Lloyd Sternberg.(F2142/33)
