Labour's plan to turn the house of Lords into a giant quango is an outrage.
They're not interested in improving the way we're governed, but are acting out of political spite and giving in to their control freak mentality. Don't be fooled into thinking this is just the first step in a well thought through programme of reform.
Labour see it as their final solution. After all, it gives them everything they want--a neutured upper house and more say for Tony's cronies.
If the House of Lords is going to be reformed it needs to be done properly in the national interest, not the Labour party's. You can't play politics with our constitution, Mr Blair.
It's not yours to mess with.
