A BOLTON man who was the victim of an infatuated woman stalker today slammed magistrates for the "soft" sentence they gave her.
As reported in later editions of yesterday's BEN, Suzanne Horrocks pleaded guilty at Bolton Magistrates' Court to a course of conduct to harass Simon Beveridge.
Horrocks, 18, of Kirkebrok Road, Deane, Bolton was ordered to pay £50 costs and £100 compensation to Mr Beveridge and was given a nine month restraining order forbidding her to contact him by telephone, letter or parcel, either at his home or work.
Today Mr Beveridge, 25, the manager of Staybrite Windows, Bolton, said he thought the court should have been tougher on her.
He said: "I honestly don't think a nine month restraining order is enough.
"I get 18 months of her stalking me, and all she gets is a restraining order. It is not justice."
The court heard how Mr Beveridge, of Hereford Road, Heaton, developed an ulcer and had to seek medical help for stress during a 10-month-long ordeal.
Suzanne Horrocks, who used to work for him at Staybrite Windows and had been on a "one-off" night out with him, plagued him with telephone calls to his mobile, home and work, sent unordered taxis to his home and sent parcels of photographs of herself to his office.
