ramble IN reply to M Cook and P Hodgkiss in a recent Your Views regarding the Stagecoach B8 & B9 routes.
You should be so lucky! At least after one and a half hours your bus finally arrived. You have obviously never had the "privilege" of travelling on the Stagecoach 25 or 27 route between Bolton and Manchester. On a Monday morning recently my wife and I, after a 40-minute wait at the bus stop, decided out of sheer frustration to set off walking from Walkden town centre to Farnworth market. Suffice it to say that in our walk, dragging a loaded shopping trolley, there was no Stagecoach bus that overtook us on our morning ramble.
It is perhaps as well that Dick Turpin no longer plys his trade on our highways these days, as he would have his work cut out if he relied on catching a Stagecoach in my neck of the woods at least.
