A MAN sitting on a railway station platform with friends suffered horrific fatal injuries when he failed to get out of the way of a passing train last night.
Despite efforts to grab him, the 21-year-old was caught by the train, travelling at about 45 miles per hour.
The victim, who has not yet been formally identified by police, was sitting with four other friends at Patricroft Station in Eccles.
As the train approached, the four others managed to jump out of the way, but the fifth was caught. British Transport Police are investigating.
