THE Environment Agency is warning of further possible flooding as heavy rain is forecast for the North West tonight.
The agency is keeping a close watch on the region's rivers following a weekend of storms which saw red flood warnings being issued for Stubbins, near Ramsbottom.
The warnings stressed risk of serious flooding affecting property, roads and farmland.
"We are continuing to remain alert as heavy rainfall is forecast for the region," said Dr Sue Walker, regional water manager.
People living near rivers are being urged to remain vigilant and ready to take appropriate action to protect themselves and their property over the next few days.
The Environment Agency can be contacted on Floodcall 0645 881188.
