A MAN who has admitted the manslaughter of a Bolton taxi driver was due to be sentenced today. As reported in the BEN, Dean Kirkman, 21, of Ruskin Road, Little Lever, has pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of private hire driver Quadir Hussain. Father-of-two Mr Hussain, of Cawdor Street, Moses Gate, died after being struck by a car on St Peter's Way on December 20 last year.
Mr Hussain's death caused anger among the taxi driving community in Bolton and Bury. A one night strike by Bolton drivers took place between Christmas and New Year.
Two other men appeared at Liverpool Crown Court with Kirkman.
John Byrom, 21, of Grange Avenue, Little Lever, and Martin Howarth of Wilkinson Avenue, Little Lever, both pleaded guilty to affray.
