I was billeted at 5 Bromwich Street, Bolton, during the early 1940s, when the late Miss Turner was the owner and landlady.
At that time, I was one of four RAF lads studying a Wireless Course at the Bolton Technical College.
I am now in my late 70s but often think about the schoolmaster who occupied the room above ours, and was visited weekly by two schoolboys when together they played classical music, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
One particular item which comes to mind was -- I believe -- a trio for piano, viola and clarinet, by Mozart, and possibly K.498 -- The 'Kegelstatt' -- and every time I hear it now, I am reminded of those happier (than the present) days, despite the uncertainty of life at that time. I was fortunate to survive the War but many of my friends did not.
If any one of the trio reads this letter, or indeed, anyone who knew or knows them, I would dearly love to hear from them.
