A WOMAN responsible for a brutal bottle attack on the dance floor of a Bolton nightclub may have been "captured" on security cameras. Detectives were today studying video footage from the Club Mondo after a woman was hit over the head with a beer bottle. The injured woman, 22-year-old Hayley Lewis, from the Moor Lane area of Bolton, was attacked by another woman shortly before 2am yesterday.
Ambulance paramedics treated her at the club before she was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital. She was then transferred to a special facial injuries unit at Blackburn Royal Infirmary and underwent surgery.
She suffered a five inch long cut over her face and a deep three inch long gash on the top of her head.
Police believe Hayley was attacked after a row with another woman over a man she was dancing with. The other woman is believed to have run out of the St George's Road club, on the outskirts of the town centre.
As detectives scoured video footage from the club's security cameras, Det Insp Mo Shafiq, said: "This was a very nasty unjustified attack.
"The club was packed at the time and the incident must have been witnessed by many people. I would urge anyone who saw the incident -- or the woman herself -- to contact us as soon as possible."
Any witnesses are asked to contact Bolton CID, tel: 0161 856 5653 or Crimestoppers on the free phone number 0800 555 111.
