REGARDING the chapel in Astley Bridge Cemetery being demolished, as Cllr Perry said, it is a sad state of affairs and nothing is sacred any more.
It's about time, the powers that be and the do-gooders got their act together, and woke up to the problem and stopped playing about with vandalism. Give them the birch.
Bus shelters, bowling greens, children's play areas, everything in fact. What a state we are in. The vandals have won again. What a sick society and not getting better. God help our grandchildren.
If the council had done something sooner, maybe it could have been saved. I chase lads away every week I go, but get a lot of abuse. I think they live local, maybe a policeman should go round now and again.
Disgusted.
