THE Crown Prosecution Service has criticised the BEN for speaking up for a Bolton shopkeeper prosecuted for defending his property against a thief.
But, true to form, the bureaucrats that made such a crass decision wouldn't tell us why we were wrong.
The CPS says we only published the trader's side of the story.
But, in the next breath, declined to give any other information, because it would "breach confidences".
If the CPS cared about its public image, then it should be brave enough to tell us why they were right to take the actions they did.
Until they do all we see is an innocent man taken to task for making a stand against crime.
And a public body out of touch with reality.
