THE Euxton treatment room was a hive of activity today as Wanderers tried to get a ward full of casualties fit for Saturday's trip to QPR.
Keith Branagan and Mark Fish pulled out of last night's victory over Port Vale, which saw strikers Arnar Gunnlaugsson and Bob Taylor added to the list of injury worries.
But there was encouraging news on the fitness front with Scott Sellars returning to first team action after a two month lay-off.
Sellars, who had only figured in three previous games this season, looked none the worse for his thigh problem when he replaced Claus Jensen in a 70th minute substitution.
That was a tactical switch but injuries forced two more with Gunnlaugsson, who has been carrying a calf problem for some time, and Taylor being withdrawn.
Fish's absence had been anticipated after he suffered a groin injury in Sunday's home defeat by Sunderland but Branagan's was a surprise, ending a run of four games since his return to first team action following a summer dogged by injuries.
"Keith hasn't been 100 per cent since he came back and has been feeling the affects of his groin and knee problems," Colin Todd explained.
"Mark Fish hadn't recovered from the injury he picked up against Sunderland so we had to make changes. Arnar was always going to play but he hasn't been able to train recently because of an injury on his calf just above the achilles."
