PETER Beardsley will be on his way back to Bolton Wanderers on Monday . . . unless Kevin Keegan works fast over the weekend.
The former England star, still a Bolton player, completes his third and final month on loan for Fulham at home to Bristol Rovers today.
And unless the players and the two clubs can agree a settlement of the remainder of his contract at the Reebok, he must return to Wanderers, where he knows he is surplus to requirements.
Colin Todd, who bought Beardsley from Newcastle for £500,000 15 months ago, gave the 37-year-old Geordie legend a free transfer at the start of the season but to date Keegan has only been prepared to take him on a loan basis.
If Beardsley doesn't conclude a permanent move this weekend, he will miss the seven day registration deadline and will not be eligible to play in next Sunday's first round FA Cup tie at home to Leigh RMI or the replay at Hilton Park, if one is required.
