A GROWING local company seems to have the future taped.
Contact Packaging Plc -- a specialist self-adhesive tape and packaging company -- has announced expansion plans.
Managing director Colin Lynch founded the business in 1980 with just £3,000.
"We started with stock and a van and progressed to what we have now," he said.
The company, which is based in Cranfield Road, Lostock, now employs 28 people and has a satellite branch in Birmingham.
The turnover in the last financial year was more than £4 million.

He and his wife Linda, also a director, are both big Bolton Wanderers fans and are looking forward to Saturday, December 19 -- the day they sponsor the Portsmouth match.
Mr Lynch said: "We have recently installed two state-of-the-art Flexographic printing machines, a total investment of £60,000, to produce printed self-adhesive tapes in up to four colours for the carton-sealing industry. This will create six jobs over the coming year."
Mr Lynch said they had also invested in computer equipment worth £20,000 to enable them to produce in-house artwork and designs to customers' specification.
They were now one of four UK firms printing tape which offers a one-stop facility for design, stereo and plate making and printing.
"The benefit of this is a delivery time of approximately seven days from rough artwork to actual print."
Contact has also enhanced its reputation as a major distributor of packaging consumables by achieving ISO 9002 accreditation.
