COMMERCE house --#151; the former miners' headquarters which became the home of the former Bolton and Bury Chamber of Commerce --#151; now houses a newly-merged training organisation.

Bury Colleges' training provider, BCE Mesnes, has acquired the Chamber's training division and joined forces with new colleagues in the imposing Bridgeman Place building.

A spokesman said Commerce House boasted several training rooms which allowed BCE Mesnes tutors to provide quality courses to help trainees achieve National Traineeships, Modern Apprenticeships and National Vocational Qualifications.

He added: "The merger of the two organisations has made BCE Mesnes one of the largest training organisations in the North-west and the move to Commerce House will ensure that quality training will continue to be provided in the future."

The new Bolton and Bury Chamber --#151; formed by a merger of the old chamber and Bolton Bury Training and Enterprise Council --#151; is based in the former BBTEC offices in Clive Street, Bolton.
