A £1m FACTORY investment is set to bring 50 new jobs to Bolton. New premises for Arthur Sanderson and Sons Ltd will be handed over tomorrow in Bolton's Tonge Valley. The Uxbridge-based home furnishings company has moved its making up services factory from Lecturers' Close, Bolton.
A company spokeswoman said: "At 67,000 sq ft the new site is more than double the size of the current premises and will house the manufacturing unit and the warehouse, which are currently separate.
"It will also have a new training school to carry out in-house training for the new employees, of which there will be a minimum of 30 in 1999, building up to 50."
She said new machinery included a custom-made quilting machine.
It would add new products to the current bedlinen and home accessories range.
Mr Harry Turner, General Manager of the factory, said: "This is a very exciting time for myself and the whole team at Making Up Services.
"This is a flagship unit for the company and we are looking forward to the challenges ahead in the steady growth we have planned well into the Millennium."
Mr Gordon Hargreaves, Managing Director of contractors William Hargreaves Ltd, is to hand over the building tomorrow to Mr Lee Taylor, Chief Executive of Sanderson.
