Why doesn't Bolton Council allow normal saloon taxi cars to 'sport' the illuminated taxi sign on the roof of their cars?
This, as far as I am concerned makes sense to help people identify bone-fide taxis. The yellow stickers which are in use now are not 'strong' enough --#151; extremely difficult to see in the dark winter nights.
Young revellers or anyone who enjoys a good night out in Bolton, for obvious reasons, only wants to get back home as fast as possible, so asking them to remember to make 'checks' to see if they are not jumping into a 'rogue' taxi is a bit like asking the survivors of the 'Titanic' to check if the lifeboats are made in England. They tend to jump and then ask questions later.
So come on Bolton Council --#151; time moves on --#151; isn't it about time you allowed the illuminated signs on saloon cars like there is in many other surrounding towns.
Surely this would the best step to be introduced to stop the 'rogue taxis' getting away with it.
