A BOLTON boy who beat leukaemia will stay snug and warm on a dream trip to see Santa thanks to his friends at local workshop.
Tom Molyneux, aged six, was delighted when he was chosen by a children's charity to jet off to Lapland and have a ride on Father Christmas's reindeer-pulled sleigh.
But with temperatures in the icy land plunging to minus 25c Tom, of Hibernia Street, Deane, needs thermal clothing to keep warm.
The 36 workers at the Bolmoor workshop for blind and disabled people on St Helens Road were so touched by his plight after reading about it in the BEN that they raffled a Christmas hamper and the £45 proceeds have been donated to the little boy's family to buy the clothes.
Tom, a pupil at Brandwood Street Primary School, beat leukaemia after spending three months in hospital following a bone marrow transplant.
It was a nurse at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital who nominated him for the festive treat organised by the Wish-Upon-A-Star charity.
The day trip involves Tom and his mum, Karen jetting out from Manchester Airport, trying their hand at skiing, riding in a sleigh and, of course, meeting Santa.
