FOOTBALLER Lisa Colley fouled up her all-woman team's unblemished record - but when her team-mates saw the yellow card, they CELEBRATED!
The 20-year-old's late tackle on an opponent in a Sunday match earned her the club's first ever booking.
In three seasons, no player at the Westhoughton-based Greyhound Gunners Ladies' Football Club had ever been cautioned.
But that all changed in the 80th minute of the match against Deans.
Lisa, a centre half at the club for almost three years, mistimed a challenge on an opponent, bringing her down, and was cautioned for unsporting behaviour.
The keen Bolton Wanderers' fan said: "It made me the first one on our team to ever be booked.
"We were worried that we were getting a reputation for being too soft, so when I got shown the yellow card, the team celebrated almost as though I had scored a goal."
In fact, her team-mates even clubbed together and paid her £6 fine! The club plays in the North West Women's Regional Football League.
Lisa went on: "I should imagine we were just about the only club in the league to have an unblemished record for so long.
"Although we did not like our former reputation for being too soft, I hope being the only player booked doesn't give me a bad name."
The team is desperately seeking more women players. The contact is Sarah on 01942 813275.
