I refer to the proposal to ban fireworks. I realise that a total ban would bring misery to lots of people, not least children. But what about the misery caused to the rest of the population? There is no such occasion as Bonfire Night any more. It should be called Bonfire Night after Night. It starts about October and continues to go on until late November! I used to love Bonfire Bight as a child but I am sure that the fireworks in those days were nowhere near as loud and powerful as today! As a dog owner, it costs us money in vet fees to sedate our dog during this period. Plus, who knows the lasting damage it can do to animals?I suggest strict legislation in the selling of fireworks. Also to reduce the noise output and let us try to educate people into having Bonfire Night on November 5. Blimey there goes another one dated December 4.
