CINEMA-goers heading on foot for the new Virgin Complex in the Tonge Valley will be getting more mud than pop corn, it is claimed.
Cllr Stuart Murray said footpaths leading to the new Virgin Cinema Megaplex on the Valley leisure development, off Blackburn Road, Bolton, are a disgrace.
He said improving the footpaths which lead from Crompton Way and Seymour Road would help draw in more people from Bromley Cross and Astley Bridge to the flagship site.
And he said the developer should be asked to cough up for some of the costs of upgrading them.
He said: "A little used and shabby track could form an attractive, green gateway to the site."
Cllr Bob Howarth, leader of the council, said the idea was a welcome suggestion.
He added the council would approach the developers and would resurface the footpath with a view to later putting in streetlights.
