I AM a pensioner. I have just drawn my £10 bonus. Big deal!
If Mrs Thatcher and the Tories had not broken the link with wages it would be now worth £84! Also, my pension would be £24 more per week. So, we pensioners have been legally robbed. Is it any wonder that the recent reports states the poor are getting poorer and the rich getting richer? We have the worst pensions in Europe and it will affect everyone's state pension, making it worthless in years to come! Think of that this Christmas!
New Labour has done nothing to restore the link and has thrown a few scraps, as it were, as if we are dogs. What faith can we put in politicians? They only feather their own nests and have nothing for the poor or old who have fought for their country! They are rich, we are poor, cold and miserable? Don't grow old!
