ARCHITECT Ray Makin has taken up the reins as chairman of Bolton Community Healthcare Trust.
Mr Makin who lives in Lostock is a former non executive of the Trust and since February this year Acting Chairman.
The NHS Executive, North West has confirmed Mr Makin's appointment as Chairman for which he will receive £15,125 a year.
Born in Blackpool, Mr Makin was educated at Leigh Grammar School and then Manchester Polytechnic's School for Architecture.
For a time, he was architect to Manchester City Architect's Department, group leader to Bury Borough's Architect Department and chief housing architect to Bury Council.
He is now a senior partner at Ptovan and Makin Architects based in Manchester and Bristol.
Outside work, Mr Makin has been involved in a number of community organisations including The House and Bamboo Theatre Company.
He is a director of Ancoats Building Preservation Trust in Manchester and The Ancoats Urban Village Company and he is immediate past Chairman of Manchester Conservation Areas and Historic Buildings Panel. Holding the reins - Ray Makin
