NEW-style litter bins are set to appear on the streets of Bury - with advertising on the side.
Bury Council has made a deal with Surrey-based company Trash Media which could mean dozens of high-quality bins being located around the borough.
The containers, which normally cost £500 each, are being provided free of charge with the supplying company making their money back by selling advertising space on the sides.
The sites have chosen for the first of the bins are The Rock, Union Street, Princess Parade, Kay Gardens, Market Place and on Bolton Street.
Cllr Tony Isherwood, chairman of Bury Council's competitive services committee, said: "With finances tight, but with the need to provide services still high, we are constantly looking at ways of being innovative. Thanks to this deal, we can give a much-needed boost to our litter bin stock with no knock-on costs to local people."
