WOLVES boss Colin Lee has quashed speculation that a flu epidemic could prompt him to ask for a postponement of Saturday's FA Cup showdown with Wanderers.

But the Molineux manager has big selection problems ahead of the third round Reebok tie.

Centre-back Dean Richards is the latest to be laid low by a virus that has swept through a number of clubs over the holiday programme.

But Lee, who also has a string of injury problems, pledged to soldier on when he said: "If it stays as it is, we'll have enough for a starting eleven, although I'll struggle to get five subs."

Wolves are sweating on 11-goal top scorer Robbie Keane, who is fighting to beat the bout of flu that forced him to miss Monday's 1-0 Molineux victory over Ipswich.

With veteran Steve Bull and youngster David Connolly already ruled out and Guy Whittingham having returned to Sheffield Wednesday after two months on loan, Keane is Lee's only recognised striker.

Wolves have problems in midfield too with Simon Osborne (hamstring) and Steve Sedgley (ankle) doubtful after limping out of the Ipswich game.

But Aussie defender Kevin Muscat, who came off his sick bed to score the 88th minute matchwinner for the Old Golds, is fully fit again.

In contrast, Wanderers boss Colin Todd was hoping for a clean bill of health as his players reported back for training this morning after extending their unbeaten Division One run to nine games with a 2-0 win at Port Vale.

He will be forced to make at least one change to that line-up, however, with Paul Warhurst unavailable after completing his month's loan.

The Crystal Palace defender is close to completing a permanent transfer but won't be eligible for the cup tie. Gudni Bergsson, who has not figured in the last 10 games, could return to partner Mark Fish.

Todd's substitute options will be limited by suspension that rules out Hasney Aljofree. The versatile young defender has topped five bookings.
