WHILE we welcome the introduction of a minimum wage which from April will be set at £3.60 an hour for workers over 21, we sound a note of caution.
There is no doubt that we are entering a recession. Some people would argue we are already in one.
It may be that some employers will feel that if they have to pay the minimum wage the only way to stay solvent will be to reduce the numbers of their employees.
Let's hope this stance will not be widespread and the Government is prepared to offer support.
