PARENTS of pupils at Bolton School are paying a lower price for A-level success than many others who opt for private education.
According to a national newspaper survey, Bolton School is among the top 50 independent schools offering value for money academic success.
Parents of girl pupils pay an average of £4,774 over two years per A or B grade and boys work out at £4,791 for each top A-level grade.
Some of the more expensive independent schools charge up to £8,000 for the same success rate.
Bolton Girls' Division is number 40 in the value for money league table compiled by the Sunday Times and the Boys' Division 42.
Oxford High School came top at £2,964 per top A-level grade with Manchester Grammar (5), Stockport Grammar (18), Manchester High (23) and Cheadle Hulme (28) also in the top 50.
