Percussionists will beat it THIS Sunday's recital in the Bolton School Chamber Music Series features one of the UK's most prestigious percussion ensembles - BackBeat.
Simone Rebello formed BackBeat in 1995 and the group have won major prizes.
Their appearance at Bolton School Arts Centre is sponsored by the Royal Over-Seas League in whose annual International Music Competition they won the Ensemble Prize in 1997. Last year they won a place at the Park Lane Group New Year Series which gave them a Purcell Room debut concert.
In 1998, recital venues included the RNCM, Bridgewater Hall, St Martins-in-the-Fields, London and the St David's Hall, Cardiff.
They have recorded several CDs and worked in schools, colleges, with hospital patients and with disabled people.
Tickets may be reserved by telephoning the Arts Centre on 01204 849475 or bought at the door. The concert starts at 3 pm.
