JONATHAN Fearick is hoping that his trip of a lifetime will earn him a cricket contract with Lancashire.
The Atherton pace bowler jets out with the England under 19s team next week for a Test tour of New Zealand.
And Jonathan of Newbrook Road, Over Hulton is the only member of the party not to have a contract with a county.
"I have had offers from a couple of counties and there have been approaches about taking a pro job in league cricket but I'm hoping to go to Old Trafford.
"I played second team cricket for them last season and it was hinted that if I got on to the tour then something might happen.
"Dav Whatmore has been away so that could have had something to do with it but I'm hoping it all turns out OK."
David Edmondson, Lancashire Cricket secretary said that the door is still open at Lancashire for Jonathan, or any other promising young player.
"What Jonathan has done is a credit to him, the Atherton club and the Lancashire development system which is instrumental in the progress of young, talented players in the county."
