BBC Television is planning a new series of programmes in which the life story of a property is revealed by the experiences of its past and present occupants and owners. We would like to hear from anyone who thinks that the house where they live - or used to live - has had an interesting history.

Almost nothing defines more our sense of who we are than the homes in which we live. How much we bought and sold them for. Where they are. How long we've lived there. Who our neighbours are. How we've decorated them and rebuilt them. How we've imposed our tastes and values on them. What's happened to us while we've lived there: where we grew up as children, the first flat we shared when we left home, the first place you buy, the home you first share as a couple, a new baby's first home, where a relationship breaks up, our last home in life, etc, etc.

You cannot wander around a home in which you once lived without a host of memories and incidents flooding back. So much of our lives is wrapped up in what happens in our homes.

Every home has witnessed all these experiences, events and changes, with sometimes dozens of different people living in them over the years, or several generations of the same family living in them for 60 years or more .

Modest town house or manorial pile; an ordinary semi or design classic; famous residents or ordinary family life: any home which has witnessed its fair share of trials and tribulations may be of interest. So if you know of a home with a tale to tell, please ring 0117 974 7656, or write to the address below.
