TWO Bolton-based projects are on the hunt for volunteers to help young homeless people.
Bolton Young Persons Advice and Support Service (BYPASS) and Bolton Bond Board will be holding an information day for people who want satisfying and challenging work experience helping out the needy.
At the hour-long sessions, people will be able to find out more about the opportunities on offer and the two services in general.
BYPASS run a drop-in three times a week through which young people can get help with benefits, housing, sexual health and drug support.
Bolton Bond Board help homeless people gain access to privately rented accommodation. They need volunteers to provide a befriending service to their tenants and make outreach visits to check they have settled into their new home. People are given a three day induction before they start volunteering with any of the services. Ongoing training and support will also be provided and all expenses are covered.
Anyone interested in going to the sessions on January 18 should contact Marilyn or Simone on 362002 or Colm on 366328.
