Louise Tansey looks at life in the 3Ds area - Deane, Derby and Daubill: A NEW course, which offers a prestigious qualification in first aid at a fraction of the usual cost, has been launched in Bolton. Run by the Community Education Service and subsidised by the local authority, this is regarded as a useful and sometimes essential qualification for people who want to take on a first aid role at work. The course is 12 weeks long and costs £16 plus £3.50 enrolment. The exam and qualification fee is £20 and includes a free first aid manual. For more information on the course on Wednesday nights at Clarence Street Centre from 7 to 9pm, go along on the night or call 525500.
