A PLANNING decision has been deferred on a huge extension at a Bolton nursing home which has been put in the hands of the receivers.
Owners Rochefort Healthcare had put in a planning application to build a single storey extension to create 20 new bedrooms.
It went before Bolton's planning control sub committee yesterday with the recommendation from town hall officers that it should be approved.
But last night's BEN revealed that the nursing home on Chorley New Road had been put in the hands of the receiver.
Councillors decided yesterday not to make a decision on the extension, but it was stressed that it had nothing to do with the receivers being called in. They were concerned that they did not have enough information about the extension plan and they will now consider it at their next meeting on January 28.
