I write in support of the new Bolton Lads and Girls Club. Does anyone realise how hard a youth leader works, seven days a week, unsocial hours and has to make enough money for the Club to survive, allowing children to do something worth whilewith their spare time, instead of hanging around the streets and getting into trouble.

We have one of the finest youth leaders in the North in Jerry Glover. I think every school in Bolton should help to raise some money for the new club.

The plans have been passed but they have not started building yet on the old site where the Navada Skating Rink used to be. Pubs and clubs should also get involved., The Howcroft have always been very supportive. A few more like Mr Clive Nightingale ( the landlord) would be very nice.

My son, who was a member for years, is no longer in Bolton but he still supports them and pays by covenant to give another child a chance of the many advantages of belonging to such a well run club brings. Whether your interests be sport, outdoor activities (weekends in the Lakes), or computers the list is endless.

Please give them the support they need to build the new Bolton Lads and Girls Club.
