FIRST half goals from Bob Taylor, Michael Johansen and Claus Jensen give Wanderers a comprehensive 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, taking them back up to fifth in the table, just two points behind second-placed Birmingham.

CLAUS Jensen says Wanderers have what it takes - quality, confidence and team spirit - to claim one of the two automatic promotion places. "We're going in the right direction," is all Colin Todd is prepared to say. But, in a dig at any Bolton fans who are still not convinced, he suggests if they watch other teams they will realise how lucky they are! Mark Fish is named in the South Africa squad for their African Nations Cup qualifier in Mauritius. Arnar Gunnlaugsson, recalled for the Palace game, shocks Wanderers with a written transfer request.

TODD says Gunnlaugsson's transfer request has been sparked by "pure greed". The club, he says, has offered the Iceland striker a "lucrative" new contract and cannot afford to pay him more.

DANISH U-21 full-back Peter Degn from Aarhus is one of four trailists who feature in the Reserves' 1-1 draw with Coventry at the Reebok. Orient's Danny Brown and Richard Barratt of Atherstone United also figure but Kettering striker Ben Wright, who gets the Wanderers' goal, is the pick of the crop. Reebok Stadium chief executive Paul Fletcher is on his way to Wembley after being appointed director of commercial affairs at the new English National Stadium.

WANDERERS open talks with Brondby striker Bo Hansen, who looks set for a £1 million transfer.

COLIN Todd, still pursuing his interest in Hansen, insists that Arnar Gunnlaugsson's contract dispute and transfer request will have no bearing on his selection. Leicester boss Martin O'Neill quashes speculation that he is heading the queue for Gunnlaugsson.
