CUSTOMERS will soon be able to get their Macs on Route 66.
Fast foot restaurant chain McDonald's has taken a half acre site on Route 66, the five acre mixed leisure and commercial scheme at Pilsworth, Bury launched by Standard Commercial Properties Securities Ltd.
The former Bass Brewery distribution facility is being re-developed by SCPS Ltd, part of Bass Developments, as part of a major scheme to regenerate surplus Bass sites and provide employment for the area.
The drive-thru restaurant will be next to the roundabout which leads to the established Warner Bros cinema complexd and Asda supermarket.
Chris Newsome, Senior Real Estate Surveyor at McDonald's, said: "We had already identified a requirement for a McDonald's restaurant in the Pilsworth area because of the existing leisure complex and the easy access from the M66 motorway."
The 3,500 sq ft fast food restaurant will be supported by a car park with spaces for 39 cars.
Mr Iain Masters of SCPS Ltd said it was hoped to attract more high-profile tenants.
