TODAY sees the launch of Bolton's Millennium Jobs Challenge ... an ambitious initiative to tackle unemployment in the town.
EVERY DAY until the year 2000, the Challenge Team has pledged to find at least one unemployed person a job.
The Evening News, Bolton Metro, Bolton and Bury Chamber, the employment Service and Lifetime Careers have joined forces for the task which if successful will be a living and meaningful celebration of the Millennium.
Special telephone lines have been set up to take information from those seeking work and any businesses looking for staff. Every Thursday in the BEN's job section we'll feature job hunters and identify new vacancies. And we'll show you how you can get help and advice from the other Challenge partners to find work.
So come on businesses, join us on the Challenge and register your support to make this a year to remember for hundreds of jobless people in Bolton.
The hot-line for people looking for work is 08456060234. If you can offer a job ring: 01204516301
