ANDY Todd is ready to put months of injury strife behind him and return to the business of helping Wanderers back into the Premiership.
The 24-year-old defender has made excellent progress after surgery to clear a double hernia problem and is expected to be given the go-ahead to resume full training next week.
Then he will be aiming to make up for lost time after missing the last dozen games of a season that has seen him battling against the fitness odds from day one.
"All being well, Andy should be back to full training next Friday," Colin Todd confirmed today.
"Then he's got to be looking to get back on the wavelenth he was on in the Premiership."
Todd Jnr looked out of sorts from the word 'go' this season when he struggled to recapture his outstanding Premier League form. Then he was struck down with a bout of pleurisy in September and also suffered a recurrence of a painful shinsplints problem that previously plagued him in his Middlesbrough days.
The double hernia was diagnosed in November after he had soldiered on in discomfort for a number of games.
Meanwhile Gudni Bergsson has started the long, hard road to recovery after undergoing surgery for the second time in two months to clear a a groin problem.
Wanderers are still working on the small print of the deal that could make Brondby top scorer Bo Hansen a Bolton player next week.
Sources in Denmark say the clubs have agreed a £1 million deal but finer points of the personal terms have still to be finalised.
Todd remains hopeful of bringing negotiations to a successful conclusion but dismissed speculation that a deal is being set up that would take transfer-listed top scorer Arnar Gunnlaugsson to Sheffield Wednesday with Owls defender Jon Newsome, who spent a successful month on loan at the Reebok, signing permanently in an exchange deal that would also net Wanderers £1 million.
"I've heard nothing from any clubs," the Reebok boss said. "The speculation of a swap deal was doing the rounds about three weeks ago. It was wrong then and it's wrong now."
Colin Todd will give fans his progress report on the season to date when he is the guest at the Supporters Association monthly social in the Lion of Vienna Suite at the Reebok next Thursday (7.45).
