DETERMINED regulars at a town centre pub have pledged to shed pounds AND raise pounds in a healthy campaign. Four customers, led by example by the landlord and landlady, have pledged to fight the fat.
And to give them the incentive they need, other regulars have promised to sponsor them to raise cash to help a young boy's dream come true.
Ron Bryant and Jan Foxton, of The York, in Newport Street ,have been joined by Lynne and Stuart Platt, Yvonne Morran and Lynda Mayo in their quest.
They will all be regularly monitored and cash raised will help the Declan Stulock appeal.
As already reported in the BEN, the five-year-old Great Lever boy is battling Hodgkin's Disease for the second time in two years. His family are trying to organise a morale-boosting trip to Euro Disney for him.
A charity night at the pub is also planned for February 18.
