Mechanic trapped by lorry A MECHANIC was given emergency treatment by paramedics after being trapped by his head as he worked underneath a heavy lorry.
Stephen Mason, aged 26, was working at Roy Braidwood and Sons commercial vehicle garage in Leicester Road, Little Hulton, when the accident happened yesterday.
Ambulance crew Erica Taylor and Stuart Bradshaw were first on the scene and supervised a delicate operation to ensure his injuries were not made more severe as he was removed.
They fitted a neck brace and spinal brace at the scene and took him to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Mr Mason, of Bradley Fold Road, Ainsworth, had a suspected head injury and was in a "comfortable" condition in hospital.
Police were informed and the Health and Safety Executive have been called in.
A company spokesman said they did not want to comment while investigations into the incident were on-going.
