A YOUNG Bolton bus fanatic had his dream come true when he was made a fleet supervisor - at the age of NINE!
Daniel Cheng, of Raikes Way, Darcy Lever, sent a Christmas card to First Manchester bus company because he is so obsessed with buses.
Bosses were so impressed by his enthusiasm, they invited him to their Bolton depot in Crook Street to be a supervisor for the day.
His mum Susan Adams, 32, said: "He is absolutely bus mad.
"He lives and breathes buses - they are his all-consuming interest.
"He has bus information all over the house and one of his favourite pastimes is collecting bus models and bus memorabilia.
"This visit has been one of the highlights of his year."
Daniel was given a full tour of the First Bus operation as well as receiving a selection of mementos including a special model bus in First Manchester livery.
Excited Daniel said: "It was just brilliant. I watch buses go past from my bedroom window.
"I have got nine or ten toy buses as well as timetables and pictures. I love everything about them."
The Harwood Meadows pupil is so knowledgable, he even knows about different bus makes and keeps abreast of new bus technology. His ambition is to be a bus driver.
Steve Walker, operations manager, was so impressed by Daniel he said there was a job available for him when he is older.
He said: "It's been our pleasure to have Daniel visit us today. And maybe later on when he's choosing a career, he'll come back to First Manchester. His enthusiasm is fantastic."
